Gave us some cracking moments, and seemed like a top bloke. Just not really pacey enough for the Prem. Bowen is far above his level also.

I remember him in early days scoring a couple up at Everton, cut in on that left peck, seemed he was found out after that, one trick pony https://youtu.be/XVqoPcA3OVo

Re: Yarmo is off
You can blame him for doing fuck all to warrant being paid that amount of money. Hard work and effort always goes a long way, even for players with minimal ability. He barely ever showed even that.

Re: Yarmo is off
Seemed to be a square peg in a square hole when Pellers bought him.

Moyes, however, needed him to play in a round hole and he simply hasn't been able to shave off enough corners.

Can't blame him for the money - some cunt at the club offered him the contract and signed it off. Blame them.

Then god. Scored some crucial goals but on balance has stolen a living from us. Should free up some wedge for the summer.

Sorry, not El Scorchio, the muppet Jimm, whoever the fuck he is.

Re: Yarmo is off
Pagey - Yep, he's turned us over, is laughing in our faces and made an absolute fortune, and gave fuck all back. Still, at least the likes of El Scorchio are happy about it.

Re: Yarmo is off
Emotions aside he’s been a truly awful signing. The winner against Sevilla will live long in the memory but that just masks years of below par performances.

His wages do matter hugely because they have probably stopped us from signing one or two others over the years, because of the liability we had on him. I really had high hopes when we signed him, but he’s flopped. And made an absolute fortune.

Huffers I thought that Carroll was on £85,000 a week not far from Yarmo's wage rate.

did you actually watch the game? doesn't sound like it.
1-0 (11min)
2-0 (winning/game changing goal after 30min)
2-1 (45min)
3-1 (61min - the real winning goal)

Re: Yarmo is off
over 4 years:
84 games
13 goals
115k a week (close on £24m in wages) + £17m fee.

for context Benrahma over 2 years:
81 games
12 goals.

Because it completely changed the complexion of the game.

Re: Yarmo is off
how is the second goal in a 3-1 victory the "winner"??

⚒️ 11:36 Fri May 13
Re: Yarmo is off
His last minute winner against Chelsea pretty much kept us up and has more than paid back the transfer fee (which was a measly £17m).

Thanks for the winner at Goodison, the goal vs Villa and the winner vs Sevilla, plus many more moments of genuine quality.

Really sad to see him go.

Re: Yarmo is off
It is the right time for him to move on, but for me he has provided more positives than negatives. People moaning about his wages; me personally i don't give a fuck about the politics and the accountancy minutia of a club, he earns what he earns.

When i look back at all those West Ham memories over the years, all i care about is the footballing memories, not some fellas wages, and when it comes to Yarmo, his destruction of Everton, Chelsea winner, tracking back to barge Bale over when about to score in the 3-3, the Villa goal and of course taking the roof of against Sevilla will ensure he always gets the thumbs up from me.

Re: Yarmo is off
Yarmolenko is allegedly on double what Carroll was on for the majority of his permanent contract with us.

And about three times the amount of what Noble is on now.

Apparently Noble's average wage at the club is £30k over his tenure. Multiply that by 17 years and you're at £26m.

Yarmolenko at 140k a week puts him close to £30m in wages.

I still laugh at the protection payment paid to players out of contract one month after their contract expires so they're not without a few quid.
